For a century, Yanbian's apples and pears have been tasted and carried by tourists and friends who come to Yanbian, and gradually accepted by the outside world. Earlier people called it "Dali" and "Dahuang Pear", and later they called it "Apple Pear" because the pear has a flat base, a narrow top leaf, a flat, round and crimson shape, and looks like an apple. The official name of apple pear exported from Yanbian is "Jilin Sweet Pear", transliterated as "Shaguabai".

During the period of 1985, the apple pears in Yanbian were rated as the first batch of high-quality pear varieties in China at the national inspection and evaluation meeting of apple pears held by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries in Beijing. Xuan is exported to Hong Kong, Macao and other places, and is very popular in the Hong Kong market because of its crispness, sweetness and juiciness, and is known as "Jilin Sweet Pear". The name "Jilin Xiangli" came from this. In the national fruit appraisal in 1989, Yanbian apples and pears ranked first, were awarded excellent products by the Ministry of Agriculture, and were recognized as "green food" by the state in 1990.

Longjing, as the origin of excellent apples and pears in northern China, was awarded the title of "hometown of apples and pears in China" by the State Council in 1995. In 2002, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine identified Yanbian apples and pears as protected products of origin.

In recent years, Longjing City has successfully held the "Yanbian Spring" Apple and Pear Flower Festival in Longjing, China for many times. The flower language in the pear garden made Chinese and foreign tourists and friends come to Yanbian, and they all felt the natural elegance of the hometown of apples and pears. Taking flowers as a medium, making friends, publicizing Yanbian, and paying attention to ecological resources, folk-custom resources and human resources are the purposes of the Pear Blossom Festival. It is the result of the pursuit to enlarge and strengthen the resource industry and develop the local economy through tourism and economic and trade singing opera.

Through many pear blossom festivals, the development space of Longjing City has been greatly enhanced, and the Korean folk culture has been further promoted. It also promoted the development of Yanbian tourism, transportation, catering and accommodation, economic and trade negotiations and other industries, and promoted the economic development and construction of Changji-Tumen and the process of Yanbian-Tumen integration project. It has promoted Yanbian's foreign exchanges and cooperation, and improved Yanbian's popularity and opening up level.
