determination, self-cultivation and scholarship
Yang Longqian
Dear leaders, teachers and classmates, hello! I am very happy to have the opportunity to discuss with you today the issue of self-cultivation and scholarship. Below I would like to talk about some of my own learning experiences and hope to inspire everyone.
First, Li Zhi
Liu Zongyuan, one of the eight masters in the Tang and Song Dynasties, is very familiar to the students. His essays "The Story of Xiaoshi Pond", "The Snake-catcher's Theory" and "The Donkey of Guizhou" are very familiar to everyone. Maybe I said one from another fable written by him. I wonder if everyone here knows it. This is what he wrote, "Deer in the Elk River". It is said that a hunter went hunting in the mountains and shot a doe. When he saw the deer, he couldn't bear to kill it, so he took it home. There is no separate place to keep it, so we have to keep it with a group of hounds. At first, hounds always wanted to eat deer. When hunters saw it, they whipped hounds with whips. Finally, the hounds gave up the idea of eating deer, and they got along well with deer, trusting each other and playing games. One day, the hunter went hunting in the mountains, and the fence door was not closed. The deer took the opportunity to escape, ran to the mountain and met a group of wild dogs while walking. The deer thought it was their family partner, so they got together and wanted to play with them. The wild dog saw the meat in his mouth and ate the deer. The poor deer didn't know what was going on until he died. What does this story tell us? There is a saying in Sun Tzu's The Art of War, a famous military scientist in ancient China, "Know yourself and know yourself, and you will win every battle." In this fable, the fawn neither knows himself correctly nor his surroundings correctly, neither knowing his friends nor knowing him. That's why it ended in come to a bad end. What lessons should we learn from this story? The first thing is to recognize the objective situation we are facing at present. Now it can be said that the national situation is the best in China for thousands of years, with economic development, strong country and people living and working in peace and contentment. Of course, what's more important is that it provides everyone with the best opportunity for self-development. As long as you are willing to work hard and study hard. Then you will have a bright future. But you must also be soberly aware that the population is expanding and the competition we are facing is very fierce. For example, in 2117, there were 11 million candidates taking the national college entrance examination, and only 5.67 million students were admitted to colleges and universities. The development of the country provides everyone with opportunities for self-development, and the severe competition makes us face many unexpected difficulties. How do you know yourself now? How are you doing in your school and class? What is your competitive strength? What is the stamina for development? What is your goal in life? These are all things that need our serious consideration. I can ask you here, what do you think?
As the saying goes, "People who have no long-term worries will have near worries." Aspiring is to determine the direction and goal of one's life efforts. The goal is the hope and expectation in people's minds, and it is the goal that our behavior is expected to achieve. As the starting point of people's reality and the destination of the future, the goal determines the direction of people's progress and the coordinates of their operation. The goal requires us to strengthen our beliefs at all times, adjust our progress and our efforts, and make unremitting efforts to realize our life orientation. The goal is also the engine and motive force of your own efforts. It is a yardstick for testing self-development and self-achievement. With a big goal in mind, Taishan will not bend over; Without a big goal in mind, a straw bends over. Some people regard what to be in the future and what to do as their life goals, which is obviously a bit too specific. Life is a kaleidoscope, and no one can predict what will happen to it. Therefore, determination and determination of life goals should not be too specific, but should be a belief. Why do people want or? How to live is meaningful? This is a person's outlook on life. What should people use as their own standards to look at and evaluate things and people around them? This is-this is a person's values. Outlook on life, values, money, right and wrong, etc., boil down to people's world outlook. It is useless to talk too much about empty truths. Ideals and world views must be closely linked with one's own life. Simply put, each of us should be determined to be recognized by others, needed by others and useful to society from an early age. Don't be a person that others hate, don't need, and are useless. Specifically, first of all, it is the recognition of parents in your own family. The family can't live without you and needs you. You can bring joy and warmth to the family, so that you can be useful to your family. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to gain social recognition and social needs. Only in this way can you be useful to society. Family is the constituent cell of society. Whether you can be recognized in a family does not need an exam. The test standard is what you can do for your family. What did you do? Children in the school stage, it depends on your academic performance, can you win glory for your parents and family? After graduating from school, it depends on whether you can find a job and support yourself. Of course, it is better for you to make some contributions to your family, so that your family not only recognizes you and needs you, but also really plays a role in your family. Going to school and going to work in society are two touchstones to evaluate a person's usefulness. Some children can pass the exam and graduate from college, but after graduation, they can't find a job, they can't stand on their own feet, they can't even support themselves, and they can't stay at home and become "old people." According to statistics, people who can't find a job after graduating from college have the worst self-care ability, and about 87.5% stay at home to eat their parents. It is better for us to become the pillar of the country now. If there is no such opportunity and possibility, we should at least be a useful person to our family and society. Don't be a burden to the family and a burden to the society. A poor guy on subsistence allowance. On the same day and in the same place, why do some people do something, why do they accomplish nothing, and don't they feel ashamed and blame themselves? A person's ambition should be reflected in the determination to forge ahead, the momentum of invincible efforts to forge ahead, and the spirit of never giving up until the goal is reached.
no matter what you say, the basis for a student to be recognized in school is the result of the exam, that is, the score. One's ambition depends on one's scores in school. The basis for being recognized after graduation is whether you can find a job, be competent and earn money. Earning money is the recognition of society and the reward you deserve for your contribution to society. No matter what your ambition is, you must get high marks in school and earn more money in society. Because you can't survive without these two things. Whether a person is useful or not, family and social needs don't need you. The first thing is whether you can be recognized by society. Only by being recognized can it meet the needs of society and you can play your role. We must make clear the interdependence of the three. From recognition to need to play its role. As for what kind of work to do in the future, it is certainly good to be able to predict one with your own beginning, and it doesn't matter if it is inconsistent. As long as it is recognized by the society, needed by the society, and can contribute to the society, it will do. When one's own role is played, it will play a positive role in the prosperity of the nation, the prosperity of the country and the development and progress of society. How happy and proud a person is when he sees that the society is developing and progressing because of his own efforts, the country is prosperous because of his own efforts, and the nation is prosperous because of his own efforts!
Second, cultivate one's health
Society is a collection of groups composed of family cells. Since it is a group, it is necessary for everyone to comply with the relevant requirements. Mencius said: "No rules can make a square." Now it has also evolved into a saying: "Without rules, you can't make a square." In fact, to ensure the normal existence and operation of society, there must be rules. A law is a rule made by the state and guaranteed by the state machine, which forces everyone to abide by. Violators will be punished and sanctioned. Morality is a rule in people's minds, but "Tao" is used externally, forming a rule in everyone's eyes and mouth. Whoever violates it in life will be looked down upon and discussed by others. Spit can drown people, which is the power of "Tao". Morality is a self-discipline rule in people's hearts, and anyone who violates it will be condemned by their own conscience. Whenever people are lenient with self-discipline, strict with others, one set for others and one set for themselves, and the Marxism-Leninism flashlight shines on others without taking care of themselves, they will say that he is two-faced. This is the deviation between Tao and virtue. Therefore, in the final analysis, a person's personal moral cultivation is to control himself, behave in an orderly manner and abide by the rules. Orderliness of behavior is the basis of ensuring the existence and normal operation of society. When a person draws a circle with individualism as the center and personal interests as the radius, his individual is closed and incompatible with others, and he desperately pursues the maximization of personal interests as soon as there is a suitable environment. This is bound to harm the interests of the public. The core of virtue is a person's ability of self-balance, self-restraint, self-control, self-adjustment, self-reflection, self-motivation and self-development.
(1) Self-balance
People live in society, and their sense of self comes from the influence of the surrounding objective environment on themselves. The breeding of unhealthy factors in people's hearts stems from the influence of the outside world. Seeing that others are better than themselves, getting more than themselves, being respected by others, etc. At first, I was envious, and it was inevitable that my heart would be sour after envy. At first, it is a condemnation of oneself, and then it is inevitable that there will be no aversion. At this time, envy has changed its taste in your own heart, and this moment is the beginning of jealousy. Jealousy just shows the imbalance in the heart. If a person takes jealousy as his starting point, his heart will naturally be restless and he always wants to vent his emotions. What we are doing at the moment can only do harm and no good. Therefore, maintaining a peaceful attitude and a balanced attitude is the starting point for maintaining a healthy mood. Especially in the current fierce competition, competitors gather. Some people are bound to take some dirty tricks, such as tripping over the leaders in the competition and poisoning competitors in the catering industry. We must prevent pinkeye. We can envy but never be jealous. Envy can add motivation to yourself, but once it becomes action, it will lead you to a dead end. Learn to keep your balance and peace of mind in the tilt of life. Self-balance is to keep your inner harmony.
(2) Self-discipline
Strive to make yourself in a peaceful form and maintain your inner harmony, which requires you to learn self-discipline. See no evil, don't listen to evil, that is, try not to touch bad things as much as possible. Things that can make people addicted, such as pornography, gambling, drugs, and the Internet, are best not to touch or touch at all. The world's best behavioral motivation stereotypes are called habits. British Bacon said: "Habit is the master of life, and people should strive for good habits. If habits start at an early age, they are the most perfect habits." And bad motivation stereotypes, bad habits are called "addiction." Never touch anything that can make people addicted. No matter who it is, it is very, very hard for him to quit when he is addicted. Drug addiction and internet addiction are all pathological after research. In addition to personal perseverance, it needs medical treatment. And often have little effect. Even the addiction formed by smoking and the gambling addiction formed at the poker table are very difficult to quit. Constraint is to control yourself, let what you do do do well by all means, and don't do what you don't want to do anyway. The strength of a person's self-control ability is very important for a person's growth. We should do everything possible to train our self-discipline ability. For many temptations in the ever-changing world, we should establish a strong defense line that can't be attacked and broken.
(3) Self-regulation
Facing the temptation of the outside world, trying to keep a peaceful mind requires constant self-regulation. A person has the strongest self-restraint ability when he is in full view and in good times of life. When it is in adversity in life and away from the supervision of others, its self-control ability is somewhat weak. In ancient times, when talking about personal cultivation, it was always emphasized that "cautious independence" was the reason. When frustrated, when away from everyone. We should see our achievements, the light and the future. You can't break the jar. Mediate and eliminate unhealthy factors in your heart. Treat yourself and life with a positive attitude. Generally speaking, the imbalance of mentality is temporary, and adjustment is a good medicine to treat mentality and achieve mentality harmony. If you haven't figured it out, your thoughts will continue to get bogged down. People's physical pain is nothing more than starvation, while their psychological pain is nothing more than thinking impassability. If you can't figure it out, you need to talk to others and find a psychologist at this moment. Try every means to solve your own heart disease. Only with a healthy attitude can we maintain our vigorous energy and fighting spirit.
(4) Self-control
There is not much difference between constraint and control, but it is precisely to show the difference by putting it forward as a separate issue here. Constraint is the attitude you take when the event doesn't happen. And control is to grasp yourself when facing temptation. There are often many times when some people are young, inexperienced and inexperienced. Some things were deceived and made a mistake, taking the wrong first step. When faced with similar problems the second time, control is to effectively grasp yourself. There is an old saying in China, that is, one more time and two more times cannot be repeated. That is to say, mistakes are allowed, but never repeated. Control is to effectively prevent making the same mistake. A person's self-control ability is the main symbol of a person's ideological and moral level. A person who can't control himself is like a broken car that is speeding on the expressway at a speed of 1.21 kilometers per hour, with both the handbrake and the footbrake out of order, and maybe it will overturn there. If you want to run smoothly on the highway of life, you have to repair and control your hand brake and foot brake to prevent the train of life from overturning. The stimulation around is the external cause, while the selfish desires in your mind are the internal causes. When the temptation of the outside world chimes with your own selfish desires, thoughts begin to turn into actions. As the saying goes, individualism is the root of all evil, and control should first pay attention to controlling one's own selfish desires.
(5) Self-reflection
We face and deal with all kinds of problems in life. Sometimes, although we have not taken detours and made mistakes, it is inevitable that there will be such unsatisfactory times. Ceng Zi said: "I will save myself with the sun." It is to constantly reflect and reflect on what you have done in the past. What has been done is deficient and unsatisfactory, and what can be done better. Introspection and introspection are the evaluation of what you have thought and done in the past, and the evaluation of your heart is based on the current standards. Try not to let life leave regrets. Reflection, reflection, can find out the gap between their own thoughts and behaviors, and determine their future goals.
(6) Self-motivation <
