The Peak East Human Culture Site is located on Gulong Mountain in Zhoukoudian, Fangshan District, 50 kilometers away from the urban area. It is a world-famous ancient human site and is called the home of Beijingers. Beijingers are early humans who lived about 250,000 to 600,000 years ago. They once lived in a limestone cave in Gulong, leaving behind a lot of relics, remains and bone fossils. In particular, a large number of evidence of the use of fire confirmed that Beijingers had been able to use fire to keep warm, cook food and scare away wild animals at that time, which provided vivid and powerful evidence for studying human evolution. In addition to the Peking Man Site, new Neanderthal fossils about 6,543,800 years ago, Neanderthal fossils about 20,000 years ago and other vertebrate fossils have also been found here, forming a natural museum of biological history and human history. Zhoukoudian Site 1 Since the discovery and excavation of 192 1, more than 40 meters have been excavated. Like a deep well. The excavated sediment is less than half of that of the whole cave. Peking man fossils have been found from L 1 layer to L3 layer. Six bones were unearthed, 12 skull fragments, 15 mandible, 157 teeth, 7 femurs, 1 tibia, 3 humerus, 1 clavicle and lunate bones, and some skull and facial bone fragments. These Peking man bones belong to more than 40 individuals. But the vast majority of human fossils, before and after Pearl Harbor, were unaccounted for. 1 The existing human fossils at the site include seven teeth, 1 humerus, 1 tibia, 1 parietal bone and occipital bone, and well-preserved mandible. The three teeth discovered before 1927 are in Sweden and managed by Bulinbao, who worked in Zhoukoudian in the early days. The discovery of fire remains in Zhoukoudian L site has advanced the history of human use of fire by hundreds of thousands of years. Including five ash layers and two well-preserved ash piles, bone burning was found in all layers with human activities. In addition, charred trees, charred stones and charred clods were also found, and even some stone tools showed traces of charring. The research on the remains of using fire shows that Beijingers not only know how to use fire, but also have the ability to control fire and preserve kindling. The fuel for the fire is mainly herbs, and branches and fresh bones are also used as wages. The hole at the top of the mountain faces north and was removed during excavation. The entrance to the north is dug by hand. The cave site consists of four parts: the cave entrance, the human world, the lower room and the lower section. Human fossils and cultural relics were found in the first three sections, and only complete animal fossils were found in the lower section. The entrance to the cave is 4 meters high and 5 meters wide. The upper chamber is12m long from east to west and 8m wide from north to south. There is a steep ridge to the west of the upper chamber, which inclines to the west, with thick stalactites on the surface, and the lower chamber is at the bottom of this slope. The lower chamber is deep in the lower chamber. In the lower room, the skulls of three old people, three middle-aged women and three young women were found. Perforated shells and fox canine teeth were found on the left side of the old man's bone, and hematite powder and hematite ore were found around the pelvis and femur. This shows that Xiashi is a public cemetery, and it is also the only tomb remains in this era in China. Twenty-five stone tools with obvious artificial traces were unearthed in the cave. Bone instruments, except some bone-striking instruments, are the most representative ones. This specimen is well preserved, the upper edge of the needle eye is incomplete, and the lower edge is well preserved to the tip of the needle, with a length of 82 mm The needle body is round, and the tip of the needle is like an awn. Judging from the rest, the needle hole was scraped out, not drilled out. This discovery shows that Neanderthals have learned to sew clothes to keep out the cold. Stone tools are the main representative of Beijing culture. Beijingers have created three different methods of chiseling stones, mainly using the smashing method to chisel pebbles with a length of 20-30 mm, and the common length is 2040 mm. The tools are divided into two categories: the first category includes stone hammers, stone hammers and stone drills, and the second category includes scrapers, pointers, choppers, engraving machines, stone cones and spherical devices. The discovery of this site provides a valuable scientific basis for studying the origin and development of human beings, and it is an important scientific base for studying the origin of human beings. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit and is listed in the World Cultural Heritage List.
