1. Niushoushan
Also known as Tianque Mountain, it is named after the east-west double peaks on the top of the mountain are shaped like tauren horns. Niushou Mountain has beautiful scenery and is known as the "Spring Bull Head". In ancient times, there were tauren, ancestral temple and other beautiful scenery of Jinling, as well as many historical sites such as Yuefei Anti-Gold Base and Zhenghe Cultural Park.
Niushou Mountain is a famous Buddhist mountain. In 503, the second year of Liang Chaotian's reign, the Buddha Cave Temple built by Sikong Xudu was the first temple of Niushou Mountain, and the Southern Tang Queen Li Yu was renamed Hongjue Temple. Tang Daizong's "once Mengniu first came to see him as a monk", so there is a monk tower. In the Tang Dynasty, Zen master Farong, who is known as "Eastern Xia Buddhism", founded Niutou Zen in Niushou Mountain, which was called "Jiangbiao Niutou" in ancient times. The establishment of Niutou Zen played an important role in bridging the transformation from Indian Zen to China Zen.
2. Nanjing Fangshan Scenic Area
Located in Jiangning Science Park, covering an area of 8.6 square kilometers, it is close to the university town and high-tech enterprise zone under construction.
Fangshan is a not too high Pingdingshan (about 208 meters above sea level), which looks like a seal from a distance and is called Yinshan in ancient times. Because the Dai Li plane crashed here, it was once called Daishan. Although Fangshan Mountain is not high, it is still tall and straight because it is located on the plain. Brick red sandstone of Chishan Formation of Upper Cretaceous and gravel layer of Dongxuanguan Formation of Tertiary are distributed in the lower part of the surrounding area, forming a gentle slope. Paleogene Pliocene Fangshan Formation basalt and its pyroclastic rocks cover the top of Dongxuanguan Formation.
