If you go for a hotel internship, do you choose JW Marriott Banquet or China World Hotel Concierge?
Personally, I think both are very strong hotels, and it's the two different positions that are really being compared. I believe the internship should be the most basic position as well? If you guys are interning and it's a chance to stay employed, I'd recommend the concierge. The banquet department is exhausting, and when you first go there it's all a lot of physical work, constantly setting up and tearing down the stage, comparatively the concierge department will be less physical than the banquet department. The number of acceptable people is also large. And the recruitment requirements of five-star hotels will be concierge department higher than the requirements of the banquet department. Therefore, basically in the concierge department to meet colleagues can let you learn more than the banquet department. Of course, I am not saying that the banquet department is not good. These are all relative, not absolute.
