There are 56 national and provincial forest parks and 70 national and provincial nature reserves in Sichuan. Seven cities including Chengdu, Zigong, Yibin, Luzhou, Leshan, Dujiangyan and Langzhong were named as famous historical and cultural cities in China by the State Council. There are also 24 provincial historical and cultural cities, 22 famous towns, 40 national key cultural relics protection units, 268 provincial cultural relics protection units and 64 museums (memorial halls and exhibition halls).
