The reporter learned from the Jiangmen City Public Security Fire Brigade that recently an illegal gang pretended to be the Jiangmen City Public Security Fire Bureau and sent a fax to the enterprises in Jiangmen City, asking them to participate in the "training" held by them and pay the training fee of 900 yuan to 2,000 yuan. More than 200 enterprises in Jiangmen may have been cheated.
Recently, Jiangmen City Public Security Fire Brigade has received consultation calls from more than 200 enterprises, asking why the training of new fire safety regulations organized by the detachment's special service brigade has been delayed. When it was learned that Jiangmen City Public Security Fire Brigade did not hold relevant fire training, the enterprise began to realize that it had been cheated and called the local public security department for help.
It is understood that since mid-June, many enterprises have received an urgent notice stamped with the official seal of Jiangmen Public Security Fire Brigade (which was later proved to be forged), requiring enterprises to send two representatives to the Special Service Brigade of Jiangmen Public Security Fire Brigade on June 30 to participate in a three-day training and issue a new fire safety certificate.
The notice also stressed that units that fail to participate within the time limit will be punished by suspending business for rectification or revoking their business qualifications in accordance with relevant regulations, and a fine of 5,000-30,000 yuan will be imposed, requiring enterprises to remit training fees (ranging from 900-2,000 yuan) to designated bank accounts.
According to Dai Yanyan, the detachment leader of Jiangmen Fire Brigade, public security fire control institutions will not open bank accounts in their own names, and their fire protection training is generally free of charge for public welfare. Even some paid fire-fighting trainings held in accordance with the relevant national fire-fighting training policies are paid on the spot when attending the training at the designated training place.
In addition, the law enforcement supervisors of fire control institutions should wear standard police uniforms and carry police officers' certificates and inspection certificates with them. Enterprises can call the local police for help directly or call the fire department for verification if they find that firefighters have designated to buy fire-fighting products and equipment.
After consulting the fire department, the enterprise has called the local public security department for help. At present, the public security department has taken effective measures to seal up the bank accounts used by fraud gangs and is stepping up efforts to trace the whereabouts of gang members.
