The ESL program
The ESL program is tailored for international students who are ready to enroll in a professional program at the university, but who do not have the required language scores to meet the admissions criteria. The ESL program is designed for international students who are ready to enter a professional university program but do not have the required language skills, and is divided into 5 levels, with a minimum of 1 level for every semester (approximately 4 months) of study. The main content of the program includes compulsory subjects such as listening, speaking, reading and writing in English, as well as elective subjects such as Native Canadian culture and popular culture. Application requirements for admission to TRU
1. Professional university programs:
TOEFL score is not required? Students only need to complete TRU's ESL English program to be admitted directly to the university's professional programs;
If you want to apply directly to the university's professional programs, you must have a TOEFL score of 570 or above or an IELTS score of 6.5 or above;
High school graduates, or students in their senior year of high school;
Students who have not yet graduated from high school can enroll in TRU's College Preparatory Program.
