The Great Hall covers an area of over 80 mu. The main building is138m long from north to south and136m long from east to west. It consists of three parts: the south building, the middle building and the north building with different volumes, with a total construction area of 58,500 square meters. The building is mainly composed of six functional areas: the main venue, the international conference hall, the conference hall of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the conference halls of various cities, the banquet hall and the catering and entertainment facilities. The outdoor environment is mainly composed of citizen square, cultural square and etiquette square.

The function of the main venue of the General Assembly Hall is mainly conferences, and it can also undertake vocal performances of ballets, symphonies, large variety shows and various professional dramas.
