Dongmen Old Street, with a history of 400 years, was once a bustling commercial street. What is the scene now?
First, it seems that there are only some brick-and-wood buildings and bungalows left on the street. The walls of traditional houses have been replaced by brick walls. In addition, the framework of the house is still the same as the original. Occasionally I can see an old house, most of which are occupied by elderly people.

2. After visiting Mentou Mountain in Dongmen Island, we walked into the old street of Dongmen Fishing Village. Dongmen Old Street is located in Dongmen Island, Shipu Town, Xiangshan County, Zhejiang Province. This street is the old street of Dongmen Fishing Village. It was built in the Qing Dynasty and has a history of 400 years. Because the fishing industry in Dongmen fishing village was developed at that time. With a large population, a shop has naturally formed, mainly supplying docked fishing boats.

It is said that there are more than a dozen aquatic products processing plants in the most prosperous Dongmen Old Street. Products are mainly sold to Shaoxing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other places, and are deeply loved by people. Today's old street, although not as prosperous as it was then, records the long history of Dongmen fishing village. Dongmen Hengjie is the most prosperous commercial street in the early years, extending from the northwest to the present straight street, forming a crossroads and a commercial center.

At that time, there were small department stores, grain depots, hardware stores and barber shops selling daily necessities. There are cinemas, power plants, credit unions, post offices and so on. In the late 1980s, private shops opened. After 1990s, the streets gradually moved outward, mainly between Xinjie and Hengjie. This street is narrow and crooked. People in the street still like to sit at the door and use stools when eating.

Walking on Dongmen Old Street, the old road changed from stone to cement road, but the width of the road changed. So the pattern is basically visible. Most of the houses on both sides are cement buildings built around the 1990s. Walking on the old street, although you are ready to see the stone house, you can see that the modern but unsightly reinforced concrete is still disappearing.

The stone house that survived the cracks in reinforced concrete surprised me. Every time I see one, I will look carefully before and after, for fear that I may not see it accidentally.
