Plastic is a common material in our daily life. Up to now, there are nearly one hundred kinds of known plastic materials, among which polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS), ABS resin and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are widely used.
There are also engineering plastics that strengthen their functions according to specific uses. Among them, polycarbonate (PC), polyacetal (POM) and polyamide (nylon PA) are the most commonly used design materials.
PE material
Because its raw materials are cheap and easy to shape when making, it will give priority to products with various uses, from plastic bags for shopping to plastic wrap and plastic buckets. Although it is neither fire-resistant nor heat-resistant, it has the high cold-resistant characteristics of not embrittlement at the low temperature of MINUS 20 degrees. In addition, the adhesion of PE is poor, so special attention must be paid when painting or printing.
PP material
Lighter than PE, better heat resistance, shiny surface and easy to show bright colors; Because of its high bending strength, this material is often used to make integral containers (such as containers with box covers and boxes).
polyvinyl chloride
Different additives can be added to make various articles with different soft and hard textures. Suitable for coloring and printing.
PS material
It is a common material for CD cases or plastic models. Transparent color is as easy to color as PVC; So it is suitable for making products with beautiful colors. The disadvantage of PS is that it has poor heat resistance and is easily broken when it falls to the ground.
ABS material
There is no defect that PS is easy to break, and the fluidity is good during molding, and a beautiful and shiny surface can be obtained. It is often used in manufacturing goods that emphasize appearance and is suitable for printing.
PET material
This is a common material used to make Potter bottles. It can also be used as fiber and has a complete recycling system.
High performance and high strength engineering plastics
PC material
Making transparent and high-strength products is the first step. Commonly used in chairs and CDs, with strong light resistance.
PA material
Commonly known as nylon, it is often used as fiber. It has good mechanical properties, such as tension, compression, bending and heavy impact resistance. So it is often used to make various parts.
Polyoxymethylene material
High resistance to repeated compression or stretching, high wear resistance and strong elasticity.
All these materials have the characteristics of softening after heating, so they are called thermoplastics; There are also materials that will harden when heated, called thermosetting plastics.
