How do we commit to work?

Before discussing the question of how we devote ourselves to work, the question of work choice should be clarified first. In real life, there are two ways for people to choose their work, one is to choose the work they like, and the other is to be forced to survive. Undeniably, most people face the second kind.

Kazuo Inamori, in his book "The Way of Dryness," elaborates more on the second kind of job choice. When we are forced to make a living and do work we don't like, how do we commit to the work? And love what we do?

I've summarized four steps from this,

Step one, change your mindset.

Doing work that you don't like, you are very resistant to it, and it is very painful. But when there is no choice, we can only do to change. In the mindset, from resisting the work slowly become accepting the work. Even if there are a thousand reluctance, even if you have been complaining and complaining, but must realize that the most important thing is to live in the moment, do a good job of the things in hand. Only when the heart truly accepts this job, there will be a series of later stories.

The second step is to find happiness in the work.

A thing is not black and white, in addition to black and white, but also contains other factors. Although the work is not their favorite, but the work brings us pain at the same time, accompanied by happiness, just need to find our hearts. Colleagues of a concern, the leadership of an affirmation, a customer's help, the work of a small progress ...... these are likely to bring their own happiness. When a person's mood becomes better, do things more efficiently naturally, the work is done more perfectly. In this virtuous circle, work brings fulfillment, fulfillment brings happiness, happiness makes people more into the work.

The third step is to anthropomorphize the work.

Work, itself, is a concept. Thinking differently, if work is treated as a real person, then what will happen to our attitude towards work? Imagine how we treat our lovers? How do we treat our family or children? Even if we are sometimes restless, physically and mentally exhausted, but in order to make our beloved ones happy, we will not tire of caring and taking care of them. Listen to them and encourage them when they are miserable, try to solve their problems by all means when they are in trouble, and come forward when they need help. If this attitude towards people to treat the work, then in the work do not want to achieve success is also difficult.

The fourth step is to become a "spontaneous combustion" person.

Kazuo Inamori divided people into three types, the first is not combustible, even if the people around how enthusiastic and active, but the person is still indifferent or indifferent, and even often splash cold water; the second is combustible, as long as someone gives a little fire, will burn up; the third is self-combustion, do not need others to command, they can take the initiative to complete, and even continue to explore. In fact, not only in the work, but also in other aspects of the need for "spontaneous combustion type" of people. They are proactive and good at taking the lead and organizing people around them to solve problems together. This is what Kazuo Inamori called people who work in the "center of the vortex".

Maybe we don't all have to be the best at our jobs, but we need to feel the wisdom of others from the book. Take the good, remove the bad, and then in the joy of becoming the person you want to be.
