Why is there a minimum consumption when going to a restaurant?
First of all, I don't eat in restaurants very often. I won't go to a restaurant unless I have to. Secondly, I didn't encounter any compulsion when I went to the restaurant to eat.

After you go, you can order whatever you want, and then check out after eating.

However, I have encountered a minimum consumption rule in restaurants, but I can accept this. This is not a compulsory act. You can accept this rule and eat here. If you can't accept it, you can go to other restaurants. Don't be dissatisfied with these things.

If it is mandatory, I know that some restaurants are not allowed to bring their own drinks. I remember that once a dozen of our colleagues went to dinner together and brought their own drinks, but when we arrived at the restaurant, the waiter said that drinks were not allowed here, so we had to use drinks prepared by the hotel. At that time, we really didn't understand it and thought it was also a compulsory act. But who let us look at this hotel? Since we want to eat here, we must abide by the hotel regulations, so we used the hotel drinks and brought them back by ourselves.

But this so-called coercive behavior, I can understand and accept. After all, when you go to other people's homes for dinner, you must abide by their rules. This is the minimum respect.
