What is the reason for the message sending failure

If you are using a Huawei cell phone, you can do the following:

A part of the SMS can not be sent

For example, if you send an SMS to the operator, if it is sent successfully, it means that the cell phone is a part of the SMS can not be sent.

1. Please check whether the SMS contains sensitive words, if so, the other party can not be received after sending

Please use the test class statement to send SMS to confirm whether it can be received normally, such as to send hello, thank you, bye, etc. If you can receive normally, it means that you have previously sent the SMS to the operator, and then you can send the SMS to the operator. If you can receive it normally, it means that the SMS you sent before may contain sensitive words, so we recommend you to avoid sending sensitive words.

2. Please make sure you have enabled fixed dialing

When you enable fixed dialing, you can only send messages to the contacts in your fixed dialing list, but not to other numbers. If you want to continue to send, please cancel the fixed dialing service:

Enter the settings in the upper-right corner of the dialing or phone, and click More >Fixed Dialing>under Card 1 or Card 2 to turn off fixed dialing (you need to consult the operator about the PIN2 code required in the process of turning off the fixed dialing).

3. If you are sending a group text message, it is recommended that you keep your device on or keep it charging while sending a group text message.

4. If you can't send a text message to a short number (e.g. 1066), please go to Settings, search for Paid SMS Permissions, click on it to find the message, and it is recommended to set it to Ask.

Second, all the SMS can't be sent

1. If your phone is currently using a 5G network, we recommend that you pull down the shortcut switch panel to turn off the 5G switch and try it.

2. Third-party SMS may have compatibility issues, please go to Settings, search and go to Default Apps to set the message as system default.

3. You can try after re-triggering the network by switching the flight mode.

4. If VoLTE is enabled on your SIM card, please go to Settings, search for VoLTE, and turn off the VoLTE HD Calling switch and try it; if you don't find the VoLTE switch or the problem is not solved after you turn on the VoLTE switch again, we recommend that you contact your carrier to re-enable the VoLTE function and try it first.

5. If the "red exclamation mark" appears directly when sending SMS, please long press the failed SMS, select More> view the message details, contact the operator and feedback the error code.

6. Please check if the SMS center number is set correctly:

(1) Please go to the settings in the upper right corner of the message, click Advanced> SMS Center to set the correct SMS center number (Telecom card has no SMS center), if you don't know the SMS center number, please contact the operator to get the SMS center number and set it.

(2) If you confirm the number is correct, but the setting fails, we suggest you put the SIM card on other devices to set up. If the setup still fails, it may be a SIM card problem, so we suggest you bring your valid ID to the operator's sales office to replace the SIM card.

7. Please insert the SIM card into another cell phone to check, if the other cell phone can not send, we recommend that you consult the operator to deal with.

Three, if the above troubleshooting can not solve your problem, we recommend that you carry out data erasure and restore operations

1. "Information" to restore the default settings

EMUI: Information > three points > Settings > Three Points, select the bottom of the restore the default settings.

HarmonyOS: Info > four dots > Settings > four dots, select Restore Defaults below.

2. Delete data and cache from Messages (won't delete SMS)

Go to Settings, search for App Management, find Messages, tap on Storage > Delete Data.

3. Restore Network Settings

Go to Settings, search for Restore Network Settings, click Restore Network Settings (it will delete WLAN, Bluetooth, and other related data), and then try to see if you can send SMS.

Warm reminder: this operation will not delete data or files, only WLAN, mobile data network and Bluetooth (such as hotspot connection information, Bluetooth pairing information, etc.) settings will be restored, other phone settings will not be restored.

If the problem persists, please back up your data (third-party applications such as QQ and WeChat need to be backed up separately) and bring your proof of purchase to a Huawei customer service center for testing.
