Is it illegal to use methanol in hotels?

Law enforcement officials said that it is not illegal to use methanol fuel in hotels.

methanol fuel is a new fuel with energy saving, safety and environmental protection, which is advocated by the state. At present, methanol fuel is more popular and is used all over the country. It is mainly made by blending methanol with water and other additives. After burning, carbon dioxide and water vapor are produced, and the combustion is smokeless and tasteless. However, if the technology does not pass or the operation is improper, it will be dazzling and choking.

methanol fuel is a new type of clean fuel, which is made of industrial methanol or fuel methanol, denatured alcohol additive and existing national standard gasoline and diesel oil (or component oil) by strict scientific process according to a certain volume (or weight ratio). It can replace gasoline and diesel oil and be used in various motor vehicles and cookers. The raw materials for methanol production are mainly coal, natural gas, coalbed methane, coke oven gas, etc. Especially, using high-sulfur inferior coal and coke oven gas to produce methanol can not only improve the comprehensive utilization of resources but also reduce environmental pollution.

However, the relevant departments have also issued some safety regulations for restaurants using methanol fuel (environmental oil). The following are the details.

1. Safety requirements for purchasing methanol fuel:

A. The quality standard of methanol fuel should comply with Alcohol-based Liquid Fuel (GB1663-1996). ?

b, the methanol fuel should be purchased in the qualified unit with the corresponding Hazardous Chemicals Business License. ?

c, the purchasing information of methanol fuel, such as purchasing time, purchasing unit and purchasing quantity, should be recorded and recorded.

2. Safety requirements for methanol fuel transportation:

A. Catering enterprises are not allowed to transport methanol fuel by themselves, but should entrust them to units with corresponding dangerous goods transportation qualifications.

b, methanol fuel transported by car shall comply with the provisions of JT617 and JT618.

3. Unloading:

The unloading of methanol fuel should be carried out under the on-site supervision of safety management personnel. ?

warning signs should be set in the unloading operation area of methanol fuel. Irrelevant personnel are not allowed to enter the unloading operation area.

entering the unloading operation area with methanol fuel should:

a) it is forbidden to carry kindling with you;

b) Turn off communication tools and electronic equipment such as mobile phones that you carry with you;

c) no smoking;

d) Wear work clothes that do not generate static electricity and work shoes without nails.

e) the engine should be turned off when discharging. When loading and unloading in thunderstorm weather, it should be confirmed that the measures to avoid lightning and damp are effective.

f) During the unloading of methanol tank car, special grounding conductor (coiled) should be adopted, and the tank car and unloading equipment should be connected with each other by clamps and grounding terminals. The grounding wire shall be connected before the tank is opened. After unloading, it should be still for more than 2 minutes before removing the grounding wire.
