The highest mountain in Zhongshan is Wugui Mountain, with an altitude of 53 1 m. Wugui Mountain is the main mountain range in Zhongshan City, which is located in the south-central part of Guangdong Province and Zhongshan City. According to Qing Daoguang's "Xiangshan County Records", "Wugui Mountain ... is rich in exotic flowers and herbs, rich in fragrant grass and calamus, which is absolutely beautiful in color and fragrance" and "there are many fairy flowers, so it is called Xiangshan". The whole mountain range includes nine mountains, all of which are southwest-northeast. The highest peak of Wugui Mountain (53 1 m above sea level) is called the roof of the city. Wuguishan District is one of the three major anti-Japanese guerrilla bases in Guangdong Province. It is the place where Zhongshan People's Anti-Japanese Volunteers Brigade was born and grew up, and has been designated as the Guangdong Revolutionary Memorial Hall.
