Jiamusi, referred to as Jiashi for short, is located in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province. It is the sub-central city of Heilongjiang Province, the political, economic, scientific, cultural, educational, medical, commercial and transportation center in the east of Heilongjiang Province, the former capital of Heilongjiang Province and the former headquarters of Heilongjiang Production and Construction Corps.
