Introduction to Xilin Gol League

Xilin Gol, located in the middle of Inner Mongolia, is the main road of communication between the Mongolian Plateau and the Central Plains in history. Xilin Gol is a Mongolian language, which means a river in hilly areas. Xilin Gol was named after Xilin River on the grassland. 71 million years ago, there were lush trees and lakes in Erenhot. With the drastic changes of the earth, landslides and earth-shattering, the dinosaurs and many reptiles that have lived here for 121 million years have become extinct, and it has become a world-famous treasure house of animal fossils, commonly known as "Tongur" highland and "dinosaur graveyard".

Human beings have been thriving here since primitive society. Xiongnu, Xianbei, Rouran, Turkic, Uighur and other ethnic groups have created gorgeous ancient cultures in this land. Xilin Gol has been a hot spot for all ethnic groups to live and multiply since ancient times. In the long history, Xilin Gol prairie is a hunting and nomadic place for ethnic groups such as Donghu, Turkic, Xianbei, Gaoche and Qidan. It was not until Kublai Khan inherited the Khan position and built Shangdu City in Zhenglan Banner within the League that this grassland became famous all over the world along with the prosperity of the Yuan Empire. In the early Ming Dynasty, Kaiping Wei was established in the south of Xilin Gol League.

The formation of Xilin Gol League (including the former Chahar League) began in the middle of the 7th century. With the victory of Huang Taiji in Ligdan Khan War, the latter Jin gradually controlled this grassland. After the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, Inner Mongolia established six leagues. "League" is the league organization of the flag, which gradually evolved into a regional organizational system. The location of Xilin Gol League is on the bank of Xilin River at the foot of Wuriguchu Mountain, so it is called Xilin Gol League.

regional scope: Xilinhot is the tourist center city, including two cities and nine banners and one county in Ximeng. Located in the middle of Inner Mongolia, this area has the largest natural grassland in Inner Mongolia.

Transportation

Aviation:

There are no trains in Xilinhot, so traffic depends on roads and aviation. Xilinhot Airport is located in the west of the city, with daily flights to and from Beijing, Hohhot and Hailar. There are airports between Hohhot, Baotou, Tongliao, Chifeng, Xilinhot, Hailar and Wuhe Haote. There are basically flights between each other.

Highway:

As the head of Xilinhot League, there are shuttle buses to many places, but there are fewer flights every day. Please pay attention to the departure time and buy tickets in advance. There are also many shuttle buses in Xilin Gol League.
