From 0:00 to 24:00 on May 5, 2022, there were no new indigenous confirmed cases reported in the province. There were five new indigenous asymptomatic infections, including four in Jinan and one in Yantai. There were no new confirmed cases imported from abroad. There were three new cases of asymptomatic infections imported from abroad, all in Jinan, respectively from South Korea, Haiti and Kazakhstan.

From 0:00 to 24:00 on May 5, 2022, the province reported no asymptomatic infected persons turning into confirmed cases.

From 00:00 to 24:00 on May 5, 2022, five indigenous confirmed cases were discharged from hospitals in the province, including four in Qingdao and one in Yantai. Indigenous asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation in 40 cases, including 16 cases in Binzhou, 14 cases in Yantai, 5 cases in Jinan, 4 cases in Linyi and 1 case in Qingdao. No confirmed cases imported from abroad were discharged from hospitals in the province. One case of asymptomatic infected person imported from abroad was released from medical observation in Qingdao.
