Restaurants, beverage shops, canteens and other catering service units in China will publicize the food safety level in a prominent position. The local food and drug supervision department will publish the units that fail to post, hang or place the food safety grade publicity board of catering services as required in the news media or the website of the supervision department.

The annual grade is the comprehensive evaluation of the supervision and inspection results of food safety management of catering services in the past 12 months by the regulatory authorities. The annual results are divided into three grades: excellent, good and average, which are represented by the letters A, B and C respectively.

The State Food and Drug Administration of the United States requires local food and drug regulatory authorities to uniformly make public signs, and post, hang and place them in prominent positions such as the entrance and lobby of catering service units to publicize the food safety level of catering service units to the public. For units that fail to post, hang, place, tamper with or destroy the food safety grade publicity board of catering services as required, local food and drug supervision departments shall publish it on the news media or the website of the supervision department.
