Zhengdong New District is a new urban area under planning and construction in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China Province. It is a part of Zhengzhou New District, covering the areas east of Zhongzhou Avenue, west of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, south of Lianhuo Expressway and north of Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. * * * It is divided into five functional groups, with a total area of 1 15 square kilometers, and the long-term planned total area is about 150.
From June 5 to February 2002, at the annual meeting of the World Federation of Architects, the conceptual planning of Zhengdong New District won the first "Outstanding Award for Urban Planning and Design" in China.
