1. Yangguan is located on the "Gufengtan" in Nanhu Township, 70 kilometers southwest of Dunhuang City in Hexi Corridor, and it is named Yangguan because it is located in the south of Yumenguan. Yangguan was founded in the period of Ding Yuan, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, and it is one of the "four counties and two customs" in Hexi.

2. As the gateway to the western regions, Yangguan is also an important pass of the South Road of the Silk Road and a battleground for ancient military strategists.

With the decline of the Silk Road after the Song and Yuan Dynasties, Yangguan was gradually abandoned. In the old Dunhuang county annals, Yumenguan and Yangguan were called "the relics of the two customs" and listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Dunhuang. Today, the former Yangguan City has long gone, leaving only a site of the beacon tower of the Han Dynasty called Yangguan Eyes and Ears, which stands on Dundun Mountain for future generations to mourn.

Four, Dunhuang Yangguan tourist attractions

Yangguan is located on the "antique beach" south of Yumenguan, which is the only place where the Silk Road South Road passes. It has occupied an extremely important strategic position since ancient times. Since the Western Han Dynasty, many dynasties have regarded this place as an important military stronghold. Many literati have also written poems for this place.

There is no reason to go out of Yangguan in the west. Where does "Yangguan" refer to?

I believe you will have a glass of wine to persuade you that you have no reason to go to the western sunshine. I am familiar with this poem by Wang Wei. After all, everyone has learned it in primary school. But I wonder if I know where the sunshine mentioned in the article is?

Sunlight was actually the throat of external traffic in ancient China. It is also the only way for the Silk Road to go south, and it is also south of Yumenguan, so it is called Yangguan. It can be said that Rizhao and Yumenguan were the gateway of transportation in the western regions at that time. After acquiring the Western Expedition in 12 1 year BC, it dealt a heavy blow to Xiongnu. In 1 1 year BC, Zhangye and Dunhuang counties were added, and Yumenguan and Yangguan were built. Since then, Yumenguan and Yangguan have become important passes established by the Western Han Dynasty in the west of Hexi Corridor.

Why is it called sunshine? Because after leaving Yangguan, I entered the vast Gobi Desert. Many dynasties took this place as a military place and sent heavy troops to guard it. It can be said that sunlight is very important to ancient people. But in later history, with the decline of the Silk Road, Yangguan was gradually abandoned. But now, if you go to Yangguan again, you won't feel Wang Wei's feelings when he wrote that westerners left Yangguan for no reason, because now it is a place full of flowers and sweet grapes.

It can be said that it is completely different from the ancient scene. But through Wang Wei's poems, we can still feel how lonely and desolate Yangguan was in ancient times. Therefore, in ancient times, literati wrote poems to describe the place of Yangguan.
