Investigation report of Hyde Hotel

I. Introduction

In order to fully understand the organization, operation and staff status of Hyde Hotel, provide a basis for strengthening and improving the work of the hotel in the future, and make continuous progress in the work of the tertiary industry, three government departments conducted an investigation on the current situation of the hotel.

This survey is completed in two stages by combining general survey and key survey. The first stage (June 20041-June 2004 15) organized a meeting of hotel staff according to the requirements of the branch and discussed it according to the survey outline. The second stage (June, 2004 16-30) solicited opinions and suggestions through individual talks, and discussed and summarized the opinions of the masses. Respondents include hotel managers, team leaders and most front-line workers, and their age, education and positions are evenly distributed, which is very representative.

Second, the hotel organization and personnel status analysis

The hotel has 50 employees, including housekeeping department, catering department, logistics service department and warehouse. Housekeeping department is divided into three teams, each team has a foreman, which is the main department with more hotel staff and heavier work tasks. In the investigation, it is generally believed that in the course of several years' operation, the department setting is reasonable, which is convenient for management, coordination and cooperation between departments, and it is convenient for giving full play to the enthusiasm of employees to complete the hotel.

By June 30th, 2004, the hotel had 50 employees, including male employees 14, accounting for 28% of the total employees. There are 36 female employees, accounting for 72% of the total employees.

Party member has 2 members and 8 members. Party member is less because hotels are collective enterprises and there is no party-mass organization.

According to the age structure, the employees under 30 10 are mostly unemployed youth and migrant workers, and the employees under 55 are mostly laid-off workers in their 40 s and 50 s.

From the perspective of academic structure, there are 4 people with junior college education, 7 people with secondary school education and high school education, and the rest are junior high school education. Personnel have low academic qualifications and poor ability to adapt to the working environment. However, because most of them are laid-off workers and unemployed youth, their work enthusiasm is generally high and their professionalism is strong.

Third, the hotel's operating conditions and ideas

1. In the survey, most employees are satisfied with the operation of the hotel. Hyde Hotel was established in May, 200 1, 18. As a newly established department, no one from the manager to the staff has ever been engaged in this industry (hotels are a special industry stipulated by the Public Security Bureau). Due to the lack of experience and the influence of planned economy, the hotel once focused on meetings and staff accommodation within the planned system. Despite the efforts of many parties, the hotel management has fallen into a trap because of the wrong concept and non-conformity with market rules. Through discussion, the hotel management realized that the hotel is a small enterprise in the collective economy, and it must face the fierce competition from Tianjin's big market and Heping District. There are dozens of hotel guest houses in Heping District, all of which are old shops with sufficient funds, more experience and stable customers. Through investigation, we found our own advantages. Hyatt Hotel and Lishunde Hotel in Heping District have attracted most high-end guests at home and abroad, while Electric Power Hotel and Emgrand Hotel belong to middle and high-end hotels. We can't compete with them. China World Hotel is another one.

2. Small and medium-sized hotels, facilities and service quality are generally our competitors. Analyzing the situation of passengers in Heping District, most of them are office workers in Tianjin, hoping to live near the city with decent grades and relatively cheap prices. It's just that we have such a geographical location, adjust prices in time to meet the needs of these people, and improve some hotel facilities, so that we will soon have a competitive advantage. Through training, waiters quickly became familiar with the business, improved various rules and regulations and employee manuals in management, standardized employee behavior, and adopted flexible and effective measures in business strategy, which quickly reversed the passive situation. At present, the hotel room rate is above 90%, and the occupancy rate of the writing room is almost 100%. Restaurants, warehouses and canteens have established corresponding responsibility systems, completely turning losses into profits, and the overall operation of the hotel has entered a virtuous circle.

Fourth, the current ideological situation of workers.

According to the survey, most employees, whether managers of hotel departments or front-line employees, can work conscientiously in their posts and have certain professionalism and team spirit. Many excellent employees have emerged in the work. For example, regardless of gains and losses, regardless of working hours, Comrade Lv Mingzhen and Comrade Cao and Xie Yue work in unity and cooperation, and Comrade Xu Mei never loses money, thus establishing a good image among employees and winning honors for the hotel. All the work of the hotel can not be completed without the hard work of these employees.

During the discussion, we also learned that among the 40 or 50 employees in the hotel, life experiences are bumpy and life burdens are heavy. Some of them are old and some are laid off because of the recession of enterprises. After they are employed in the hotel, the general idea is to hope that the hotel business will be prosperous and they can have a stable job. They are most worried about being laid off and unemployed again because of poor hotel management. Therefore, these employees especially cherish their current positions. Although their income is not high, they all work hard.

Most of the young people in the hotel are unemployed young people in cities and rural young people who work in cities. Their thoughts have two characteristics: first, they are diligent and eager to learn, and accept new things quickly; Second, temporary workers have serious thoughts, worrying about unstable work and delaying youth. More concerned about hotels than others, eager to get all kinds of insurance benefits except wages.

People in their forties and fifties and young people all have the same characteristic. It is a common saying that people regard hotels as writers and rely on them. It's really difficult to find a job, especially a stable job. They are very satisfied with their present job. I am both an investigator and an interviewee. As a hotel manager, I care about the work of the hotel, and I care more about the employees who work day and night for the hotel. Doing a good job is my hope and motivation. I will make unremitting efforts for this goal.

According to the investigation, the hotel is a newly established small collective enterprise, and its employees are all temporary workers, that is, there is no party-mass organization or trade union organization, and the political and ideological work is weak. Although they are laid-off workers and unemployed young people, they also have the desire to join the party organization and participate in various activities organized by the unit (such as the "July 1" singing competition).

The cultural quality of hotel managers is generally low, and there are few opportunities for business training and learning, which affects the development and improvement of hotels to some extent.

Hotel is a special industry, which is a high-incidence department of various accidents and cases. Lack of safety management experience and inadequate measures. Fire is a profound lesson.

Sixth, some suggestions.

Through this work survey, we know that employees are basically positive about hotel work, but there are still many problems worthy of attention and need to be solved urgently.

1. Can hotel employees participate in various activities organized by the Communist Youth League and trade unions in the college, so that they can enjoy equal treatment with college employees politically, thus mobilizing their enthusiasm for work and study and enhancing the cohesion of employees?

2. Hotel is a special industry, with high incidence of all kinds of cases. It is suggested that the hospital strengthen the safety management of hotels and invest necessary manpower and material resources. It is hoped that the leaders of the institute will urge the relevant departments to regularly check the work of the third production entity.

3. If the hotel is in good operating condition and capable, it should solve the labor protection problem of some employees.

We should strengthen the professional training of managers and employees, and constantly improve the quality of the staff to adapt to the fiercely competitive market economy environment.
