This name change is because the building at the original site of the Ruili Guild Hall is classified as a historically protected building and cannot be expanded and remodeled, so the Ruili Guild Hall chose to build a new large-scale hotel in a different place in the Nangang District of Harbin, relocating the original hotel business to the new site and renamed Harbin Heilongjiang Ruili Hotel.
