Liu Ying, formerly known as Mu, was born in Ruijin, Jiangxi.
in April of p>1929, he was renamed Liu Ying and joined the 4th Army of the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants. In the same year, he joined the China Producer Party. He has served as instructor of the Red Army Company, political commissar of the battalion, director and political commissar of the regiment, director and political commissar of the division, and director of the political department of the Red 7 Army Corps. Participated in the first to fifth anti-encirclement campaigns in the Central Soviet Area.
in March, 1938, Su Yu arrived in southern Anhui and was incorporated into the New Fourth Army. Liu Ying was ordered to stay in Zhejiang to persist in the struggle. In May, the Fujian-Zhejiang Temporary Provincial Party Committee was abolished and the Zhejiang Temporary Provincial Party Committee was established. In September, it was changed to * * * Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, and Liu Ying succeeded as secretary.
In February p>1942, Liu Ying was arrested by the Kuomintang in Wenzhou because of the traitor's betrayal. On May 8, he died heroically in Fangyan, Yongkang.

Character evaluation
As the main person in charge of the Zhejiang Party and the Red Army, Comrade Liu Ying, at the time of crisis, led the Red Army Advance Division to persist in arduous guerrilla warfare in Zhejiang for three years, and miraculously opened up southwest Zhejiang.
