1, Peking University Institute of Modern Agriculture (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute") is a provincial-level public welfare second-class institution established by the people's governments of Peking University and Shandong Province, and a new research and development unit with independent legal personality. On July 6th, 2065438, Professor Deng Xingwang promoted the Shandong Provincial Government, Tel Aviv University and Peking University to sign a memorandum to establish a research institute in Israel, and later Tel Aviv University became an academic cooperation unit. On August 17 and August 18, the Shandong provincial government and Peking University formally signed an agreement to establish a research institute, and started the construction of the research institute park on June18,2065438. On July 0, 202 10/0, the Institute officially moved into the new campus, and was approved by the National Natural Science Foundation on October 5, 2022. The Institute is equipped with 180 career establishment, and the president responsibility system is implemented under the leadership of the Council, with Academician Deng Xingwang as the president.
On July 5th, 20021year, Weifang Modern Agriculture Shandong Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as "provincial laboratory") with the research institute as the core supporting unit was approved for establishment. Guided by serving the national strategic objectives and the major needs of Shandong Province, provincial laboratories aim to build a national laboratory reserve team or members of the national laboratory network, focus on major frontier issues of modern agriculture, devote themselves to solving the key technology research of "sticking neck", and strive to create cutting-edge and globally influential ones.
This research institute covers an area of 300 mu. At present, 7 1000 square meters of housing facilities have been built, including comprehensive scientific research building, reception center, conference center, dining center, senior expert apartment, teacher apartment and student apartment, which can accommodate 500 people for scientific research and study. Equipped with 339 1 set of advanced instruments and equipment such as transmission electron microscope, complete mass spectrometry analysis system and * * focusing microscope, the total value of the equipment exceeds 290 million yuan. 10000 square meters greenhouse, 1000 mu open-air base, 6 1 artificial climate room, 5,000 square meters intelligent greenhouse, cryoelectron microscope room, mass spectrometry room and cell room have been built and put into use. With the support of Weifang Municipal Government and xiashan district Management Committee, the 20,000-square-meter conjoined apartment building of Fengqi Shangjie Project added office, research and accommodation space, and nearly 460 mu of agricultural land behind Ruyi Mountain was used as research land.
4. The Institute gathers talents at home and abroad, which conforms to the major strategy of national seed industry and has made important progress in staple food breeding. First, breakthroughs have been made in the research and development of the third generation hybrid breeding technology of wheat. The original achievement has applied for 9 international patents, including 2 granted by the United States and/kloc-0 granted by Russia; The second is to cultivate herbicide-resistant corn varieties, and use this corn variety to intercrop with soybeans to create a new model-integrated weeding model. In the field experiment of 202 1, the gratifying results were obtained: the yield per mu of corn 1 mu and the yield per mu of soybean was 0.8 1 mu. If it is widely promoted, it is expected to reverse the situation that China's soybeans and corn depend on imports.
