On August 25, 2017, the media exposed Beijing "Haidilao" Jinsong store, the Sun Palace store there are problems with the hygienic conditions of the business premises and other violations. The Beijing Municipal Food and Drug Administration opened a file to investigate the above two stores, and carried out a comprehensive inspection of Sichuan Haidilao Catering Company Limited's 1 central kitchen and 26 stores in Beijing.

In response to the problems of "Haidilao", the city's Food and Drug Administration launched a two-week special inspection of the city's food and beverage service units on Aug. 25 on the basis of daily inspections, focusing on companies that have been found to be problematic in the past and those that have been investigated and punished.

The inspection covers the licensing of stores, disinfection of tableware, sanitary status and cleaning of dishwashers, control of vector organisms, and the setting and use of cleaning tool rooms.
