Principle and advantages of loaded flocculation magnetic separation (BFMS for short) process

BFMS technology is in the traditional flocculation process, the addition of magnetic powder, in order to enhance the effect of flocculation, the formation of high-density flocs and increase the specific gravity of the flocs, to achieve high efficiency in removing pollutants and the purpose of rapid sedimentation. The ionic polarity and metallic properties of magnetic powder, as the nucleus of the floc, greatly strengthen the flocculation binding ability of suspended pollutants in water, reduce the dosage of flocculant, and the effect is better than the traditional process in the removal of suspended matter, especially in the removal of phosphorus, bacteria, viruses, oil, heavy metals and so on. As the specific gravity of magnetic powder is as high as 5.0×10?kg/m?, about twice as much as that of sand, the specific gravity of floc mixed with magnetic powder increases, and the floc settles rapidly at a speed of up to 20 meters/hour or more, and the whole water treatment can be completed in about 10 minutes from water inlet to water outlet. The magnetic powder in the sludge is separated and recovered by using the magnetic drum with the characteristics of the magnetic powder itself and recycled in the system. The high gradient magnetic filter captures the residual particles in the water, and the magnetic filter is automatically cleaned according to the set requirements to achieve a high degree of purification of the water. According to the report of using BFMS for deep water treatment in the United States, the magnetic filter can achieve the result of removing 26 nanometer germs. The process was rarely used in engineering, because the recovery technology of the magnetic species has not been well solved, and now this technical difficulty has been successfully broken through, the recovery rate of the magnetic species reaches more than 99%, the process technology in the U.S. has also carried out the project demonstration and commercial project operation. Our company has applied for a number of patents in China, forming the company's own intellectual property rights. In the past three years, our company has successfully conducted a number of tests with different operating parameters in the areas of municipal wastewater treatment, water reuse, surface water and groundwater and tap water treatment, river water, lake water, river water treatment, high-phosphorus wastewater treatment, papermaking wastewater treatment, mining wastewater treatment, oil refining and oilfield wastewater treatment with a 250-ton/day pilot plant, with very good results; the 10,000-ton/day pilot plant has been completed in May 2007, and the process is now in operation in the United States. The test vehicle has been put into operation for one month in May, 2007 in Qingdao Licun River estuary city sewage, running well. In Beijing Jinyuan Jingkai wastewater treatment plant effluent in addition to high phosphorus depth treatment run for more than a month, the treatment effect is good. As the Olympic Games emergency municipal wastewater treatment project, installed in Beijing Qinghe Sewage Treatment Plant 4 × 10,000 tons / day and 2 × 5,000 tons / day **** 6 groups of BFMS system, the comprehensive treatment effect is good. The technology is applied in Shengli Oilfield to treat oil recovery wastewater in the first phase of the Dongying Shengli Oilfield project (5000 tons / day) has been put into use, the oilfield 500 tons / day groundwater BFMS project and 30,000 tons / day of oil recovery water BFMS project is also in the implementation.

Compared with other processes, the magnetic separation technology has the following advantages:

1) The BFMS process can be applied to primary, secondary and tertiary municipal wastewater, mid-water and all kinds of industrial wastewater as well as drinking water.

2) The treatment effect is good, its effluent quality is comparable with the ultrafiltration membrane effluent, BFMS process can effectively remove from the water particulate pollutants, microbial pollutants and some pollutants that have been dissolved in the water, such as: COD, BOD, suspended solids, total phosphorus, chromaticity, turbidity, etc., especially on the phosphorus has a strong removal effect. Can also be combined with biological processes very effective and economical nitrogen removal.

3) Strong impact load resistance, unique impact resistance to the impact of water quality. When the former section of the process failure, or other harmful metal ions into the sewage treatment system, the sewage can be directly into the magnetic separation system, the system is still able to maintain a high removal effect, substantial removal of pollutants in the water.

4) Occupies a very small area, 20000 tons / day BFMS system occupies an area of about 400 square meters, plus aisles, dosing and operating facilities occupy a total area of about 700 square meters.

5) low investment, than the membrane treatment has obvious advantages.

6) low operating costs, long service life of the equipment, in addition to normal maintenance, without the replacement of components resulting in high secondary investment.
