Brief introduction of cup dance
On July 22nd, 2007, Hainan Wenchang Cup Dance was included in the second batch of municipal intangible cultural heritage list of Haikou City, Hainan Province. Wenchang's "Cup Dance" originated in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. At first, it was only performed during the "Junpo Festival" from the ninth to twelfth day of the second lunar month every year to commemorate Mrs. Xian. Performers are divided into three roles: life, Dan and ugliness. The horn is beaten with chopsticks on the porcelain plate (dish), the horn is beaten with stacked porcelain cups, and the clown dances with colorful fans. The performance is humorous, cheerful and enthusiastic, and is deeply loved by the masses.
