Yu Yue once wrote a poem praising staying in the Garden: "The beautiful trees are glorious, the beautiful flowers are flourishing, the strange stones are clear and flowing, the pavilions on the porch, the pavilions on the wind and the pavilions on the moon all belong to their own", and called it "the crown of the famous gardens under Wu". On the occasion of midsummer, when entering the Lingering Garden, the lotus flowers in the pond are competing to open, and the flowers are red, green and sparse, showing the beauty of Jiangnan.

There is an elegant open gallery in the garden near the water, which is called Lvyin Xuan. On the side facing the pool, the porch replaced the wall with a "gooseneck chair", with a wide field of vision, flowers on the edge of the fence, and the lake outside the willow is light and heavy. Next to the fence is a good place to enjoy the lotus. There are other scenic spots such as Little Penglai, Hanbi Mountain House and Lotus Terrace, which are all suitable for watching lotus flowers in summer.
