Rainbow Channel (1994-2005) is the first cable TV channel in Taiwan Province Province to be allowed to broadcast adult programs legally, and it is one of the channels of SHOVWA Enterprise Co., Ltd. 1994. In March, Rainbow Channel obtained a license to broadcast adult programs for 24 hours, and was called the "Three Treasures" of cable TV together with Ying Xing and Xindongbao. On August 3, 2005, Rainbow Channel was cancelled by the Information Bureau of the Executive Yuan and ordered to close. In March 2008, Chaohe launched the "Rainbow Family" package in Chunghwa Telecom MOD and announced its comeback. However, some cable TV companies have re-signed the contract for broadcasting on DVB-C digital set-top boxes.
