Majiazhuang Garden, located in Xiashatu Village, Datian, Linhai City, was built in the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929). Its owner, Ma Hanqing, was the richest man in the eastern part of Fucheng at that time, with an annual rent of 10,000 tons. When he was building Majiazhuang Garden, it coincided with the once-in-a-decade famine, and Majia took this opportunity to build a large-scale project. Hungry villagers are unable to discuss wages with others. It's decent to find a handyman as long as he can have a bowl of rice to eat. So, the Majia picked up a bargain and began to build his Majia garden with extremely cheap labor.

When the author approached the manor under the guidance of the villagers, the magnificent platform door came into view. There is a village river in front of the platform, and a small bridge has been built on the village river. When we stepped into the platform door, it was like stepping into a solemn palace, which made people feel different. Such a majestic and tall platform door, which integrates western culture and China traditional crafts, organically combines the platform door with Jiangnan water town culture and becomes an immortal work in the history of modern architecture. However, this rare building is now surrounded by potholes and overgrown with weeds. However, the most worrying thing is that because of the property right problem, no one has paid for the maintenance of the platform door at present, resulting in the peeling of the whole gray plastic parts, the weathering of stone carvings and the fracture of the bridge railings, which has become a precarious situation, and people are very worried.

Entering the platform door is an open sports ground. The main building in the north of the sports ground is Majiayuan, which has a main platform door and two side doors. The components in the garden are also excellent works, and the oxlegs on its colonnade are carved with auspicious patterns such as flowers, plants, insects, fish and people's stories. The boundary of the platform around the patio is composed of 4-5 meters long boulders. In that era of low productivity, it takes a lot of energy and material resources to lose labor. The gray sculpture of Majiazhuang Garden is his masterpiece, especially the sculptures of Fu, Lu and Shou, which have both dynamic and vivid art and local characteristics full of aura, and are the best in the government city at that time.

Majiayuan has been used as a public building since the land reform in the 1990s, so it is relatively complete. However, the internal components have experienced the local destruction of the Cultural Revolution and the wind of cultural relics theft in recent years, resulting in certain losses and losses. However, it is gratifying that Majiayuan, as a historical relic, will be the key protected object through the unremitting efforts of cultural relics workers in coastal areas.
