Can you share with us the delicious food in your hometown?
My hometown is located at the foot of Ganling, which is well known at all times and all over the world. Known as Ganzhou in ancient times, it is now called Ganxian. The most famous snack in my hometown is Guo Kui, which belongs to Ganzhou. According to legend, when Tang Gaozong built Ganling, hundreds of thousands of troops and civilian workers had a big problem in eating. Some soldiers use helmets as pots and barbecued pork buns, which are very delicious. This method spread at once. Solved the problem of soldiers eating. Later, after thousands of years of improvement, today it is baked in a flat pot. Ganzhou Guokui is refined wheat flour, a specialty of Ganzhou, made by hand. The finished product is yellow and white outside, layered inside, crispy and sweet at the entrance, chewed better, and dry to carry. It is also an expensive gift for friends. In the 1950s and 1960s, the older generation often said that Guo Kui's steamed bread in Ganzhou could smell ten miles as long as it crossed the Weihe River. Of course, that was before and after liberation. There was no pollution and the air was fresh. I believe this is true.
