1950, after Mao Zedong accepted the seal presented by Qi Baishi, he gave a banquet to thank Qi Baishi and invited Guo Moruo to accompany him. During the dinner, Mao Zedong thanked Qi Baishi for his seals and paintings. Qi Baishi admitted to sending a seal, but denied sending a painting. Mao Zedong took out this painting, and Qi Baishi felt uneasy when he saw that it was a waste painting with his own seal. This leads to the story of painting dispute. The dispute over painting has generally gone through several rounds: First, Qi Baishi asked Mao Zedong for painting; When the two men argued, Guo Moruo came out to fight for paintings; As soon as Guo Moruo rolled up the scroll painting, Mao Zedong plausibly defended the painting; Qi Baishi took the opportunity to ask Mao and Guo to inscribe on the painting and reasonably won the painting.
