Second, the production process
1, winding the secondary coil, and winding 1000- 1500 turns with enameled wire on a PVC pipe with a diameter of 50-75 mm
2. Make the discharge tip, which is made of aluminum exhaust pipe. In order to facilitate the fixation, two stainless steel bowls can be placed up and down to clamp the aluminum pipe, and the hole in the middle is fixed with screws. It should be noted that the discharge tip should be connected with the enameled wire at the upper end of the secondary coil.
3. Connect the enameled wire on the discharge top and the secondary coil with wires.
4. Make the primary coil and wind the thick thread on the PVC pipe with the diameter of 10cm. In order to facilitate debugging, you can also peel off the single-core copper wire and fix it on the pipe. Pay attention to leave a gap in each round of quality inspection.
5. Make the primary capacitor array. Every 10 capacitor is connected in series as a group, and multiple groups are connected in parallel as required. For safety reasons, each capacitor should be connected in parallel with the resistor of1m.
6. Make an igniter, and fix two metal objects on the insulator with a distance of 3-5 mm. In order to dissipate heat, several groups can be connected in series.
Third, adjust resonance.
The key to making Tesla coil is resonance, that is, the primary LC frequency should be equal to the secondary LC frequency.
The number of turns of the primary coil should not be too small. When the number of turns can not meet the resonance condition, the primary winding can be roughly adjusted by increasing or decreasing the capacitance group, and then the approximate number of turns can be determined. Then, connect the circuit and observe the discharge effect by energizing.
Then cut off the power supply and fine-tune the primary turns (such as 5.7 and 8.2 turns) until the arc is the longest.
Fourth, matters needing attention
Tesla coil belongs to high-voltage equipment, and it is forbidden to touch any part of the circuit when it is energized!
