The body is slender and oval, and the outline of the back of the head is round; The upper jaw is short and cannot reach the front edge backwards; There are four canine teeth on the upper and lower edges. The head is quite large, the back edge is slightly steep, slightly uniform and round, and the caudal fin is segmented. The body is dark blue. Habitat in flat sandy land or overgrown areas near lagoons, coastal reefs and deep-sea coral reefs.
Most of the commercial fish sold in the market are fresh, and live fish are also sold in Hong Kong. The meat is sticky and delicious, suitable for braising in soy sauce. In addition, its body color is bright and it is often regarded as an ornamental fish.
