Mawei District is the jurisdiction of Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, located in the southeast of Fuzhou City, on the north bank of the lower reaches of Minjiang River, and 0/7 nautical mile away from Minjiang Estuary/KLOC. It borders Minjiang River in the east, Huanxi Town in Jin 'an District in the west, Cangshan District and Changle District across the river in the south, and Guantou Town in Lianjiang County in the northeast. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The total administrative area is 275.66 square kilometers.
