Lotus blood duck
Lotus Blood Duck was born: In A.D. 1276, the Yuan army captured Lin 'an, the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, and Wen Tianxiang was a teacher and a diligent king. On this day, he came to Lianhua to drink chicken blood wine with local rebels. At that time, there were no chickens, and the lotus was rich in ducks, so they used duck blood to make wine. Liu Delin, the chef of Huotoujun, mistook the unfinished duck blood wine for hot sauce and poured it into the pot when frying ducks. Before long, a pungent smell pervaded everywhere, only to see the dishes paste into a ball and the color was purple. When the duck was brought to the table, Wen Tianxiang took a bite and was full of praise. He asked, "Why this dish?" Liu Delin made a mistake and replied: This is a local specialty called "Lotus Blood Duck". Thus, a dish was named and passed down from generation to generation, and later, it appeared on the royal menu of the court in the late Qing Dynasty.
