Zhanjiang Institute of Science and Technology was founded by Guangdong Ocean University and Zhanjiang Cunjin Education Group on 1999. In 2006, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as an independent college, and in 20021year, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to become an independent private undergraduate college. The school has two campuses, Mazhang and Xinhu, covering an area of 1980 mu and a school building area of nearly 700,000 square meters.
