Altamira Cave Art Museum
The museum consists of two parts: the archaeological exhibition hall and the cave mural hall. In the archaeological exhibition hall, precious historical relics such as animal and plant fossils, various stone tools, pottery, iron ware and bronze ware unearthed in Kandabulein sea area are displayed. The cave mural museum is located in the cave, where the remains of Paleolithic paintings are completely preserved. These paintings have a history of 15000 years, and are called madelin culture.

This cave is 2.3 meters high, spacious and deep. There is a stone stove where prehistoric people barbecue food and make a fire to keep warm. The trace of embers at the bottom of the stove is still clear. There are places where prehistoric people slept, and there are many scattered animal portraits on the walls and ceilings here. Such as goats, bison, mammoths, wild boar, deer, wild horses and so on.

The colors of murals are mainly red, black, yellow, brown and sometimes white. Animal images include standing, lying, running, screaming and so on. And they are realistic.

This cave was discovered in 1879, and was later transformed into a museum for people to visit. There are many prehistoric rock paintings in Spain.
