2. Introduction to Urumqi.
Urumqi (Uighur:? ) is the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in People's Republic of China (PRC), located in the middle of Xinjiang, at the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain. Urumqi was called Dihua in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, which means "educating" the border people. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the policy of discriminating against ethnic minorities was abolished and renamed as 1954. Urumqi still has the place name of "Old Town", which is located in the area of Xinjiang Agricultural University. Now the area inside the South Gate, the North Gate and the West Gate is the original "Seoul". The whole city is dominated by the Eight Banners of the Qing Dynasty, and Seoul is an industrial and commercial area. Today's Urumqi is formed by the expansion of the original "Seoul" to the periphery. Urumqi has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. It is the largest city (2,500 kilometers) which is the most inland and farthest from the sea and coastline.
