There are 7 bands in TM image, namely:

1, TM 1 (0.45 ~ 0.52 um), blue light band, the greatest penetration to water.

2.TM2 (0.52 ~ 0.60 um) is sensitive to the reflection of green plants and can be used to identify plant species.

3.TM3 (0.63 ~ 0.69 um) can be used to distinguish plant type, coverage and judge plant growth in red light band.

4.TM4 (0.76 ~ 0.90 um), near infrared band, is located in the high reflection area of plants, and is mostly used for plant identification and classification. At the same time, it is also located in the strong absorption area of water body, which is used to draw the boundary of water body and identify the geological structure and landform related to water.

5. TM5 (1.55 ~1.75um) is a short-wave infrared band, located between two water absorption zones, and is sensitive to the water content of plants and soil, thus improving the resolution of crops, with a large amount of information and high application rate.

6. TM6 (10.40 ~12.50um), with thermal infrared band, is sensitive to ground thermal radiation.

7.TM7(2.08 ~ 2.35 μm), a mid-infrared band, is an additional band specially designed for geological survey.
