What did I learn in the fourth grade of elementary school?

During the summer vacation, the happiest thing for me was that I learned to cook!

It was a sunny day at noon. My father and mother had gone out to do things, and I was the only one left at home. It was almost twelve o'clock, and my parents hadn't come back yet. So, I thought to myself: Why can't I cook my own food to satisfy my hunger? So, I immediately took out a cookbook, turned to the page that asked people to fry potatoes, carefully read the specific instructions, and then I started to act like a little chef.

I first took out a piece of pork from the refrigerator, defrosted it in the microwave, and then started peeling the potatoes. After peeling, I washed them with white water and prepared a basin of water in advance and set them aside. Finally it’s time to cut potatoes. Cutting potatoes is the most nervous part for me. I am holding the potatoes with my left hand and cutting them with my right hand. Suddenly, the potato slipped and the kitchen knife almost cut my hand. What a blessing in misfortune! I immediately took the potato up and cut it carefully again. Finally finished cutting, I soaked the cut potatoes in the water prepared in advance. Then chop the garlic. First, peel the skin off the garlic, then break it into pieces and put it on a plate.

I started cooking. I took out the pork from the microwave and put it on the pot to fry for a while. Then I put the potatoes soaked in the pot down and stir-fried together. Finally, I put the garlic in and stir-fried it again. Add salt, add water, then cover the pot, and it’s done in a short while, haha!

As soon as I put the delicious dishes on the table, my parents came back. They were very surprised when they saw the dishes on the table and said: "Our son can cook!" and showed their faces. A satisfied smile.

This time cooking made me feel: if a person cannot reach out with clothes or open his mouth with food, it is impossible for our parents to accompany us throughout our lives! We must be hardworking and learn to be independent! As long as you have confidence, there is nothing you can’t learn or do!
