There are two reasons:

2. In the farming society, the experience and knowledge of the elderly are very valuable.

The production technology of farming society is always summarized and explored from practice. For example, how to cultivate the land according to the weather, such as how to store food, such as how to deal with drought or flood, and so on. These experiences and knowledge are very important to people in farming society, and old people have accumulated knowledge and experience all their lives, so people say that "having an old family is like having a treasure"
