Yuanbaoshan is located in the north of Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 65 kilometers away from the county seat. The main peak, Qingyun Peak, is 2084.7 meters above sea level, which is the first peak in Liuzhou and the third peak in Guangxi. Among the terrestrial vertebrates in Yuanbaoshan Nature Reserve, there are two rare and endangered species in the world: the white-browed partridge and the fairy thrush.
The clear Beijiang River, with a total length of 1.46 km, flows between the peaks, the peaks turn back, the waterfalls pour down, the Chinese fir bamboo forests on both sides are sandwiched between the two sides, and the Miao stockade looms. Yuanbaoshan Nature Reserve was established in 1982, which is a provincial nature reserve approved by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Covering an area of 9040 hectares, the main protection targets are forest plant resources, water resources and their rare tree species.

The national first-class protected plants are Abies yuanbaoshanensis and Taxus chinensis. Among them, the national second-class protected plants are fragrant fruit trees, equisetum trees, Liriodendron chinense, South China five-needle pine and so on 18 species. In addition, there are 23 kinds of rare plants such as Coptis brevicalyx and Panax japonicus, and orchids are also quite rich.
There are 309 species of terrestrial vertebrates in Yuanbaoshan Nature Reserve, belonging to 76 families, 28 orders, 4 species of giant salamander, python, bear monkey, leopard, 45 species of giant salamander, cygnet, forest musk deer and water deer. Among the terrestrial vertebrates in nature reserves, there are two rare and endangered species in the world: the white-browed partridge and the fairy thrush.
