Methods/steps:
The first step is to find a piece of chalk that looks smooth.
Step two, imagine what you want to carve, or compare some pictures to carve.
Step three, roughly carve with a blade and cut off large pieces of chalk.
Step four, carve carefully with a needle. This step is more cautious, because if you are not careful, you will be broken by yourself, and you can peel it bit by bit.
When the fifth step is almost carved, you can choose to roll the napkin into a sharp shape and polish it until it is smooth.
Chalk carving is to use loose chalk as carving modeling material to carve and process works of different shapes on limited columns, including buildings, roses, various small objects, and vivid and eye-catching characters.
The slender column of chalk has some limitations on the dynamic performance of characters, but it also forms a unique chalk carving style. The figures are exquisitely shaped and decorative, while the key parts such as facial features, hands and feet, clothing and so on are exquisitely carved and expressive. When creating figures with dynamic limbs, we must also adopt special combination carving techniques to make them seamless, natural and vivid.
The tools for chalk carving are homemade. Using scrap metal with suitable hardness, we can make all kinds of special micro-knives, including sharp knives, square knives and round knives, all as small as sewing needles.
After the chalk is carved, it must be colored by special treatment, otherwise the texture of the chalk will become loose after absorbing the water in the pigment, and it will not be preserved for a long time. After coloring, cover it with varnish to increase brightness and play a protective role.
