For tourists, it will last for more than 20 days;
For local residents, it can improve their life for a whole year or even longer.
Everyone must be curious, why is there such a big difference? This is also the mystery of North Korea.
1. What kind of life can a tourist live in North Korea with 10,000 yuan?
0 1: Let me talk about my experience in North Korea:
North Korea's initial impression of me is mysterious and extremely yearning.
A very good colleague, who spent some time in North Korea a few years ago, said that men in North Korea are so happy that they can marry beautiful girls without buying a house or giving a bride price.
The most important thing is that there are more women than men, and there are many choices. There is hardly a saying that a man can't find a wife.
It may be because my colleagues' words deepened my idea of going to North Korea to find out. Finally, in the summer of 20 19, my wish came true and I went to North Korea with my parents.
We booked a tour group in Dandong Hotel in advance for four days and three nights. There are two kinds of tour fees, 2300 yuan/person and 2500 yuan/person. There is not much difference. The tourist attractions and services are the same, and the expenses are all inclusive, but after arriving in North Korea, the hotels you stay in are different.
At that time, we followed the advice of the travel agency and chose the one with 2500 yuan per person. To our surprise, when we arrived in North Korea, we stayed at Yangjiao Island International Hotel, which is the best hotel in North Korea to receive foreign guests.
At that time, I thought it was money well spent. Both the overall atmosphere of the hotel and the accommodation ingredients provided to us are the best in North Korea, especially the service attitude when eating. I was really flattered at dinner.
I visited Kaesong and tasted the local aristocratic feast. There is a special copper bowl of rice on the table. Cover it with a yellow lid before eating. This is very similar to the ancient royal feast. The types of dishes are carefully prepared. Although the quantity is not much, the taste is very satisfactory.
The group meal of the tour group is still good. If you want to taste other delicious food, you need to order another one, but you need to pay for it yourself.
There are many shopping places when traveling, so you need to go to their foreign-related shopping malls, such as Guangfu Commercial Center in Pyongyang. To be honest, the price there is not cheap, which is similar to that in China. For example, a bottle of green tea 5 yuan, a can of eight-treasure porridge 7 yuan, and beef 40 yuan/Jin.
On the last day, my parents bought some souvenirs and Korean ginseng. After the whole trip, they distributed about 4000 yuan to everyone. If converted into 10 thousand yuan, it is only enough for a tourist to spend more than 20 days.
Because tourists' spending in North Korea is not low, 1 10,000 yuan is only enough to live for a while, but if you work in North Korea, you can live a good life with a monthly salary of 1 0,000, even if the price is higher.
If you give North Korean residents 10,000 yuan, that's another way of life.
2. How would North Korean residents live if they had 10,000 yuan?
Although some people have been to North Korea, few people know their real income and price level.
Just out of curiosity, some people will ask the tour guide, how much do you earn in North Korea? They will not directly answer such questions, but will only tell you that their wages are enough for their own expenses, and in turn publicize their social welfare security.
North Korea's housing is free, just write a marriage application;
Free schooling, 12 years of compulsory education, kindergarten (1 year), primary school (5 years), junior high school and senior high school for 3 years each;
Free housing, medical care, free physical examination and other old-age benefits.
This is an easy answer. I know their monthly income is definitely not much, but if you think about it carefully, what they said is not unreasonable.
Salary standard
In North Korea, most factories are state-owned and belong to the mode of self-production and self-sale. According to the published data of 20 19, it can be roughly summarized as follows:
The wage level of ordinary workers is maintained at 300-700 yuan, while those above 700 yuan belong to high wage level. Researchers, teachers and civil servants all belong to this level, and Korean tour guides are also one of the civil servants.
We take 700 yuan as the median, so the annual wage income is about 9000 yuan.
In addition, each post will also issue different amounts of replenishment tickets, so that you can receive the materials needed for life free of charge.
02: Price level
For example, the most common Datong River beer on the dining table in North Korea costs around 10 yuan. In the resort, this price may be common to us, but it should not be the common price of local people.
Before I came to Korea, I had an illusion:
Judging from the scale and layout of the city, it is similar to our eighties and nineties, and their clothes and transportation are similar to the memories of that era.
Therefore, it is inferred that North Korea's income should be similar to ours in the 1980s and 1990s, and prices should be low.
The truth is that our consumption in North Korea is similar to that in first-tier cities, and some imported foods are even higher than domestic prices.
Although locals come to foreign-related stores to spend money, the checkout method is different from that of tourists, and it is not clear how to charge.
I think the most likely reason is:
North Korea must be aware of this phenomenon, so it has formulated two different sets of consumption standards. Tourists can only shop in designated foreign-related shopping malls, while local shops and farmers' markets can only be purchased by local residents. Although I don't know the specific price there, I can infer that it is definitely much cheaper than foreign-related shopping malls.
700 yuan a month, it seems that the salary is very low, but it does not mean that their lives are very tight; Although the salary is not high, there is a supply of tickets and necessities, and life is guaranteed.
Some people say that their salary is equivalent to pocket money, which makes sense.
This shows that:
For local residents, 10 thousand yuan is equivalent to more than one year's income, plus the supply ticket issued by the state, education and medical housing are free, and there is no pressure in daily life. Ten thousand yuan is enough to improve their quality of life for a whole year.
03: Other stories
Bicycles and electric cars are the most common means of transportation on the streets of North Korea, and there are fewer private cars. Residents who have made outstanding contributions to the country will be assigned better houses and cars, such as runners-up in the Olympic Games.
North Korean residents are in no hurry to walk. They wear simple clothes, don't see jeans, and don't beg in the street. It is a typical self-sufficient country.
Most Korean girls who come to work in China come from highly educated families in North Korea, and their monthly income exceeds 2,000 yuan. They feel that it is an honor to work abroad and it is natural to contribute to the country.
Ten thousand dollars is not rich for tourists, and it won't take long in North Korea. But if you earn 10,000 yuan a month in North Korea, you must be a rich man.
Before I went to North Korea, I felt that it should be the same as in the 1970s. Some people were poor, some were backward, and the lives of ordinary people were not satisfactory. However, after I went there, my previous cognition was subverted.
Looking at their happiness on their faces, I instantly understood that real happiness has nothing to do with material things.
