Mountain people often say that trees are alive. On the fifteenth day of the first month of each year, after eating early, people will pack up their things, including all kinds of the best food for the villagers, as well as incense, paper money, wine and a small pot of glutinous rice soaked in wine. The whole family will take these things to the nearest ancient tree for solemn worship. After the elders at home arranged the gifts, they saluted with the whole family and made a silent wish in their hearts. They won't tell others about their wishes, saying they can't come true. I promised my elders to feed the tree and put chopsticks in the cracks of the tree, and I completed the tree worship ceremony, but the tree feeding activity has just begun. After taking home the small pot of glutinous rice soaked in wine, we children and adults feed the trees around our house or our own fruit trees. Adults cut more than a dozen holes obliquely on the stem of the tree with axes, and children feed the wine and glutinous rice with spoons, often in the afternoon and evening.

After feeding the tree, the six-year-old children, accompanied by adults, should dig a good sapling nearby, mostly the sapling selected by adults at ordinary times, and move around the home to cultivate Feng Shui. Those over six years old should go to the tree they planted and tie a small red cloth about an inch. When I was a child, I asked my elders, but they couldn't tell me clearly, only that it was passed down from generation to generation. But people in the mountains say that trees are people and people are trees. What kind of person you are, the tree you plant is what kind of person. If you are healthy, your tree will be healthy; If you are upright, your tree will be upright.

Mountain people also say that trees are the most emotional. According to the figure of eight characters, the "gentleman" in the mountain, in order to avoid misfortune, people worship the tree as a guardian under the witness of the "gentleman". The "gentleman" in the mountain is the person who holds the funeral for the dead. They are respected, educated and polite people in the eyes of the mountain people. Master Bao thinks that people in Baoshan are safe, happy and healthy all year round. At the same time, it is also a way to transfer the disaster pain to the tree and let the tree bear the misfortune of the mountain people. In the mountains, many people have a tree to protect grandpa. Every festival in the mountains, people will worship with their children's gifts.

According to my mother, a distant relative of mine was the captain of the production team when he was in a brigade and needed a big tree to build a house in the commune. The selected tree is his ranger. Before he cut it down, he knelt under the big tree and cried for three days and nights. After the tree was cut down, he couldn't get sick until he died. After listening to this story, I understand that the tree is the hope of the mountain people, the tree is the patron saint of the mountain people, the tree can not be separated from the mountain people, and the mountain people can not be separated from the tree in the mountain.

Trees are the life of mountain people, or they go to Qiu Lai in spring all year round to interact with trees, which are their relatives and friends. So people in the mountains love trees, so simple, so devoted, so eager.
