Novosibirsk (Russian: новосибирск) is a Russian city founded in 1893. Administratively, Novosibirsk is Novosibirsk (новосибирскаяоблас).
The era of canned bread is long gone, and contemporary Russian food is not as rude as expected. Modernity and tradition blend here, European cooking collides with Russian recipes, and the fresh ingredients with Shan Ye flavor are delicious. A complete Russian cuisine is similar to western food in composition, including appetizer (salad), soup, main course, dessert and so on. Dishes are served on the floor.
Perhaps people are used to thinking that this dining order and table manners are purely French. In fact, until the beginning of19th century, the mainstream French service was just like Chinese food, and all the dishes were served together. Later, the Russian ambassador to Paris tried his best to promote Russian plate-by-plate service, hoping that the dishes would be provided to customers in the most delicious state. The old French service was eliminated and even brought an innovation to French cuisine.
You know, Russian service is the originator of western food etiquette. The most widely spread Russian food overseas is red vegetable soup, which is what we call Luo Songtang. But in China, most versions don't have beets, and it's another matter to replace them with tomatoes. The real red cabbage soup should keep the beets bright purple. The soup base should be boiled with beef, sprinkled with fresh dill leaves, and finally poured with a spoonful of sour cream.
