"Xi'an·Zhouzhi County·Sizhuyuan Ruins" Introduction to Shaanxi's scenic spots

In the area of ??Sizhu Village, Sizhu Township, Zhouzhi County. The Sizhuyuan ruins are the ruins of Zhulin Palace, Zhulin Temple and other buildings in the Sui Dynasty.

Dating back to the Zhou Dynasty, the bamboo forest here is vast. According to the "Biography of Emperor Mu", the bamboo forest in Nanshan was planted when King Mu of the Zhou Dynasty was on his western expedition and Yuanchi played Guangle. Because it is near Mangshui (today's Zhouzhi Heihe River), the bamboo planted is also called Mangzhu. According to the "Hanshu Notes": Mangzhu is located in the southern boundary of Zhouzhi County, and there are many bamboo forests along the Mangshui River. Historically, Sizhu Garden had palaces, temples, villas, and many pavilions. Today, there are still the ruins of Bamboo Forest Palace and Bamboo Forest Temple in the east of Sizhu Village.

There are bamboo forests all over the Sizhuyuan area, with deep winding paths and unpredictable conditions. It is a place where troops can be stationed to fight. It is easy to defend but difficult to attack. It is a natural military barrier. In ancient times, more than 10 major and minor wars took place here. In the 14th year of Emperor Yang Guangye's reign (618), Li Yuan's third daughter, Princess Pingyang, led her family boy Ma Sanbao and Li Yuan's younger brother Li Shentong to contact more than 70,000 peasant rebels including He Panren, Li Zhongwen and Xiang Zhishan. A mutiny and uprising was held in Zhuyuan, known as the "Women's Army". Soon Li Shimin came to Si Zhuyuan, lived in Zhulin Palace, and occupied Guanzhong, which caused great trauma to the Sui Dynasty.
